Time Inc. is shuttering Southern Accents Magazine, the 32-year-old publication that was published six times a year and focused on luxurious homes, entertaining, travel, fine arts and antiques. This is the second announcement in eight months that Time Inc., a unit of New York-based Time Warner Inc., has called it quits on a magazine put out by its Southern Progress subsidiary. Cottage Living magazine folded in January.
Sources tell me the SA editors found out just this morning. The announcement leads to speculation of the future of the Southern Accents Showhouse, located near Fort Worth Country Day School in Fort Worth, whose lead designer is Joseph A. Minton and Associates. According to preliminary reports, the showhouse will go on as planned with marketing coverage in Southern Living and Coastal Living Magazines, also published by Southern Progress.
The showhouse is scheduled to open in September — stay tuned to DallasDirt for more details.
