So unlike residential — she said she could not disclose the sales price. Hello, what if I had been a potential buyer? Apparently they got several bids last Thursday, the number of bids in the “double digits” (but less than 50, we played a little guessing game) for the property, which she said would absolutely not be torn down. Any of you in the DallasDirt nation hear who may be buying the Maple Terrace and how much paying?

I just love that building. You know Amanada Blake, Miss Kitty from Gunsmoke, lived there. (‘Twas my grandfather’s favorite show.)

I checked on DCAD and found something both interesting and exhausting: each unit in the Maple Terrace is valued separately, which means I had to add up all the values — and may have messed up a few numbers on my old-fashioned, key-in calculator — to get a total value of about $8,811,040. Some units are valued as low as $23,010 while one unit, 1611, is valued at a whopping $66,980. The owner is High Street Maple Terrace Associates, LP. Rents range from $600 to $4000 per month.

When I lived there, I thought the roaches were bad enough. My son just leased an apartment on the Upper East Side, where the epidemic is at its worst due to under-reporting. Good news mom: the city has the roaches under control. Bad news, now you have to worry about bedbugs coming over from the neighbor’s.

Anyone in Dallas had any experience with these things? You can tell us — confidentially even.

I don’t know what sites like Everyblock and others who feed me constant streams of stuff they aggregate from police reports are going to do — maybe take a nice, long nap? Dallas residents currently cannot obtain copies of Dallas Police Department police crime reports because of a financial dispute between the city and the maker of the software, a company called Butler Systems. You know what happens when you don’t pay the bills or agree to pay the pills? Folks pull the plug, which is exactly what Butler did on Monday because of delays in the final contract. Apparently owner James Butler has been working with the city for eight months to finalize a contract.

Oh well, sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Locally, UDR owns The Talisker of Addison, The Belmont Apartments, and THIRTY377 Blackburn Street among a ton of other apartment complexes across Texas and the U.S. Does this mean KFH thinks the market has bottomed or that leasing is going to be hotter in the U.S?
