Eric Celeste | is managing editor at D Magazine. Since graduating SMU in 1990, he has worked at, in chronological order, the Dallas Morning News, D Magazine, The Met, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Microsoft Sidewalk, DFW Lifestyles, back to the Star-Telegram, the Dallas Observer, American Way, Southwest Spirit, Celeste Media, and, finally, here again. Eric thinks of real estate as foreplay and is able to guess the asking price of any house in any neighborhood within 10 percent. It’s like a superpower, only less-effective in fighting crime.
Mary Candace Evans | is the Real Estate Editor for D Home and a longtime contributing editor to D Magazine and sister pubs. Her first D contribution was in 1981: a cover story called “Crime in North Dallas” that drew the ire of everyone, including the late Stanley Marcus, over a sidebar called “How To Burglarize A Home.” Candace trotted down to a Huntsville prison to interview a prisoner and offered readers solid tips from the best. She earned an MSJ. from Columbia University and has worked in television news in Chicago, New York, and Dallas. Candy lives and breathes — and even invests — in real estate.
Todd Johnson | is creative director of D Magazine Partners. That means he knows design. He also knows home value. Todd lives in Kessler Park. He’s totally happy with his current house, but that doesn’t stop him from looking. He’s a serial house-hunter who views open houses as sport. His favorite room in his house is the living room, because he actually lives there.
