Guess he just saw the news about the Senate vote on health care legislation, because Beverly Hills’ renown (and uber hot!!) plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Rey is now listing his “gated celebrity villa” for $4,395,000. The home was listed last year at $5,295,000. The 6300 square foot home has six bedrooms, seven and a half baths, guest house, pool, gym, outdoor living area, everything. The augmentation biz must not be as uplifting these days, as Dr. Rey has had this pad on the market for about nine months and is taking almost a one million dollar hickey on it, according to Zillow. Poor guy. All he’s been trying to do is beautify America. But I’m a little concerned because he seems to be surrounded by million dollar homes over there on Hutton Drive in LA. Maybe the good doc tried to squeeze a “D-cup” into a “B” neighborhood?
what does the augmentation biz have to do with lowering the price of a house? first off, that house is a disaster and was priced laughably too high in the first place and is now more in line w/ what it should have been last year. obtw, the health care legislation isn’t even law yet. i can understand if you’re bored but that paragraph is just silly.
This guy is a total d-bag and I find no sympathy in him losing money on this hideous house.
Very funny Candy
… healthcare reform legislation is going to help all of us self-employed folk in the real estate world by bringing common-sense regulation to the insurance trusts, um, I mean “industry”.
Presently, there are so many people I know who can’t get insurance due to pre-existing conditions of a fairly common nature, OR the rates are so high that insurance payments can rival the cost of a mortgage. BRING ON HEALTHCARE REFORM!!
Actually, he would be better off under the reform — as they 5% tax on elective surgeries is being removed and replaced with a 10% tax on indoor tanning…
@Geoff: I’m not bored. Between DallasDirt and http://www.housingwatch.com/2009/12/21/do-housing-bubbles-engender-happiness/
I’ve got my hands full. Tongue planted firmly in cheek that has not, as of this date, had any “work”.
Does the offer of the Doctor’s estate have to do anything with his fat cat of a wife throwing a temper tantrum when she wanted him to buy that monstrous 11,000 square-foot beast of a home in Calabasas which was listed at $9M (NINE-MILLION-DOLLARS!!!) so that she could be closer to her parents???
I loved it when Dr. Rey reminisced on his college buddies advice of, “Don’t marry a rich girl. You’ll never be able to live up to the life that Daddy gave her.”
I think you’re right, Mizz. I thought it was horrible that she did not give a flip that the doc would have to drive into Beverly Hills every day, because driving up and down the 405 during rush hour is a breeze, huh?
I wonder if there is some kind of relevance between an increase of breast augmentations performed and an increase of property values? I guess it would be considered some kind of bubble-to-bubble ratio. Any statisticians out there know if there is any relevance to that???
He’s married? Hmmm…that’s the gayest straight guy I’ve ever seen.
