I talked to Clay Evans — no relation, though you never know — his development company, SC Companies, represents the local partnership that owns the vacant lot where Anteks once stood on Lovers Lane. (The furnishing store is now in the Dallas Design District.) SC is offering a 38,000 square foot ground lease for interested parties to build up to a four-story tall structure. How much? Depends on your credit, says Clay, but the property has been appraised at $95 per square foot. Who’s calling him? Everyone under the sun; the location is one of the few on Lovers with self-parking. Says he returned from Thanksgiving to 50 calls on the property, and suspects we will ultimately see a bank, office building, or restaurant (or all) going up on the dirt sometime soon.
Another bank?
a bank! how awesome!
dear people of money in dallas,
do something really cool with that spot. build a four-story museum. do something totally random. i realize the lease will cost a lot. but find a way to not make this another boring corner. we have enough of those. put the bank underground.
