Yes, the government should extend the tax credit – this gives people an opportunity to own a home. Awesome!

Only if they extend it to more buyers. So many people are stuck because they can’t sell their homes. An expansion to include more buyer would greatly increase their odds to finally get their homes sold.

No. Plenty of studies have shown that it only inflates home prices, thus skewing prices temporarily, and is rife with fraud. I understand that realtors work on commission, but why keep up bad government policy.
if they do it needs to be for everyone! Enough of a small segment of the public getting something for doing nothing, either open it up or let it go away.

Home prices in Dallas have fallen but the statistics say “not enough” becuase home sales are still down. The $8000 tax credit only makes sense when the $8000 is equivalent to 10% of the purchase price.
Lowering property taxes 12-15% and allowing homes to maintain there value would see a increase in sales.

Topics include house porn, hot neighborhoods, hot agents, hip pockets, celebrity listings, second homes, vacation homes, real estate trends, data analysis, tips for buying, selling, or staying put. If DallasDirt were a house, it'd be a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath ranch transitional on a quarter acre lot with stainless kitchen and granite countertops: sophisticated with designer touches, room for expansion. Make an offer.
