Dallas Real Estate: Lake Highlands Town Center Delayed….

Not good news for Lake Highlands real estate. In fact, I am starting to look at shopping centers in a whole new light: they are predictors of the neighborhood around them. I will be snapping pics as I explore this town and send them off via Twitter. (Feel free to follow.)  Show me a shopping center in the process of being spruced up, I’ll put my money down that surrounding property values are edging upwards.

    I didn’t get a sense of gloom & doom from the Town Center construction update. In fact, it was reassuring. I’ll take delayed but with active work going on over some of the empty lots of rubble that we have around town. Looking at the success of the NW corner of the intersection, the LHTC will be a fantastic addition to this part of town.

    Prescott’s efforts to transplant the 75 year old live oak are notable.

    Any info on dusty 40 acre re-development going no where at Walnut Hill & Central/75? It borders my hood The Meadows…

    Why have them improve tomorrow? Let’s have them improve today! I hate to admit it, but it’s here. The recession is in full force in Dallas. Buyers, get out there and get yourself a GREAT deal. Sellers, hope you have enough equity in your home that when you receive a low offer that you’re not under water and have to come to the closing table with money. [Debbie Downer noise plays]
