In this glorious part of Chicago, it seems the high end is not doing as well as it is in Dallas: a lake front home can now be had for under $3 million!!!

The same article said the $400-600K range is doing reasonable well. Don’t believe it. I have a beautiful 2BR/2BA condo facing Lakeshore Drive with a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan and one of the better harbors in the city which has been on the market for 11.5 months. I’ve had one unofficial offer which I won’t even consider an offer because the potential buyer offered the max his lender would approve and it wasn’t even close.
I’d love to unload this place soon so I can get my sweet little self back to Big D and stay there!

DallasDirt is a daily discussion of the Dallas-Fort Worth real estate market, led by D Home Real Estate Editor Mary Candace Evans with contributions from real estate experts and aficionados. Topics include house porn, hot neighborhoods, hot agents, hip pockets, celebrity listings, second homes, vacation homes, real estate trends, data analysis, tips for buying, selling, or staying put. If DallasDirt were a house, it'd be a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath ranch transitional on a quarter acre lot with stainless kitchen and granite countertops: sophisticated with designer touches, room for expansion. Make an offer.
