Summer Getaway In West Texas: Home Away From Home In Shipping Containers?

Check out this piece in the New York Times about Roger Black, a talented, quirky New Yorker AND sometimes Texan, once the art director at Rolling Stone in the 1970s, and at The New York Times and Newsweek in the 1980s. He’s now  a publications consultant and a partner of Font Bureau Inc., a Boston-based digital type foundry. And he flies to far west Texas to chill in his $200,000 home built of shipping containers called Cinco Camp, about 200 miles away from Midland. He says that in the Hamptons, you hear the same gossip you hear in NYC, so Roger would rather trade that beachouse view for what he calls “the reality” of Texas.
