Kevin, the history of Russwood...they were just tacky "new" houses filled with mostly social climbers and those who didn't have good taste...that now with some age and full grown trees looks pretty darn good and with practical space easily redone...maybe we will feel that way about all the awful faux chateaux littering Preston Hollow and environs now in 50 years

FYI, the hitchin' posts are to meet code... My tile guy says they can be removed, and have some kind of modular installation... But, he also raised his eyebrows in an unseemly manner to suggest they had other uses.

Candy, care to comment?

The "sliding" doors? Don't bother me now, I'd have to be in the space...it's a good, cheap way to fill a hole in the wall. I recently removed a sunroom addition to my own home, and did some Jeff Duffey approved French doors... Windows would've been 5 X the price with no patio access. The question I have about this property...just how good is the lot. That may explain the sliding doors...

Russwood is probably the best kept secret, nothing is smaller than 3200 ft with the largest being just under 8000 which is currently on the Market. Two of Dilbeck's last projects were done for the Lobello children on a grand 60's scale, it was the address to have in the 1960's where it was home to C Level executive's of American Airlines, EDS, and others as well as many of the successful business men like the Martinez of mexican food fame with El Finex, Clifton Carpets,Neiman Marcus heirs and others.

Wow - there's nothing more inviting than a hole in the floor for a bathtub! With "hitching posts" nonetheless! That's probably going to be a deal killer...

Maybe sliding doors are acceptable in a ranch home, or perhaps they are coming back into fashion.

Not to seem stupid, but who's Linda Richmond?

While we're on the subject of sliding doors, please notice they are also in "both" master bedrooms—not just the master bath.

One too many mojitos before writing this? As Mama would say, "This is one hot mess of a house".From the cheapo granite in the kitchen to the hole in the floor "bathtub", this place is not my idea of perfection. Did you see the cheezy sliding door in the tubroom? And what's the posts & chains for? Tourists?

I hope that the posts and chains around this tub aren't permanent. Surely there is a better way to prevent folks from falling in.
