Next Tuesday morning foreclosed homes in Dallas will be sold on the courthouse steps. Foreclosures are a sad time and I cannot think of a worse, more horribly stressful scenario than being forced out of your home. I know — it happened to me.

Okay, no one else seems to have said anything, so I’ll bite. However, first I’ll say that I’m very sorry that this happened to you. As a homeowner, I cannot even begin to imagine how stressful and sad it must be to experience a foreclosure.
That being said, I’m curious about several things. Is this a story that you are willing to share with your readers? Did it happen recently? What were the circumstances? How did you deal with questions from friends and family? How did you recover? I am sure there are many lessons that others could learn from your experiences and no doubt your story might be reassuring to others who are going through the same thing.

Let me clarify: we were not foreclosed, the landlord attempted to evict us from the home we were leasing so he could build a spec home. Being forced out of your home for any reason is, however, devastating.

Topics include house porn, hot neighborhoods, hot agents, hip pockets, celebrity listings, second homes, vacation homes, real estate trends, data analysis, tips for buying, selling, or staying put. If DallasDirt were a house, it'd be a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath ranch transitional on a quarter acre lot with stainless kitchen and granite countertops: sophisticated with designer touches, room for expansion. Make an offer.
