Nicky Sheets slashed the price on his 4512 Beverly Drive listing — live on Beverly for less than $2 million! Diane Duvall Rogers is trimming the fat on this Briarwood cutie pie, 4907 West Amherst, or head south to Winnetka Heights for a rare find, 219 North Willomet , $365,000.
A post about Nicky? Does this mean he and the Mrs. have paid their bills to D Magazine and are no longer on Wick’s sh*t list? No more cover stories?
Is it too much to ask for some civility on this blog, and accept the post for what it is? Mean talk for the sake of just isn’t that interesting anymore. Period.
@Amanda
Candy’s post was sarcastic, but it is surprising to see Sheets’s name back on the blog considering the high profile financial and journalistic disputes with D Publishing.
The story and dispute was major news, so what’s wrong with some follow up questions? Is someone above questioning?
@Candy
Has D resolved its financial disputes with the Sheets? Is everyone on good terms?
Wow. That is surprising that Nicky’s name was mentioned given the acrimony b/w Wick and the Team Sheets.
Candy – do tell. Are Elaine and Nicky in good graces again (i.e. they’ve settled up?) with D Mag? Did you receive a green light to mention his name?
Thanks for clearing that up, with me being a total outsider and all.
amanda – you have to admit it is interesting that the Sheets’ name has been listed again. more interesting is that no one from dallasdirt will ‘fess up about the status of the parent company’s disputes. holy elephant in the room, batman.
I have a question. If the EMS and Nicky were delinquent in paying D, then how did everyone know about it? Sure, other people commented on the blogs about their adventures with the Sheets…but why would two people jump on this thread to say that they know the Sheets were late paying D? And how would the commenting public know that?
As far as I know, editorial and advertising is supposed to be kept separate in the D empire. The comments on this thread seem to suggest that D’s coverage was a reaction to the status of an account. That isn’t how I know the owners of D to operate.
Amanda, read this, will clarify:
http://frontburner.dmagazine.com/2008/12/18/the-sheetses-hit-the-fan/#more-17920
Editorial and advertising is as separate as church and state at all our publications, which is how it should be. Unfortunately, as you and I both know, that fire-wall is not the status quo elsewhere. As for me getting any “green light”, I am blessed to work for an organization that trusts my editorial judgement on real estate and does not issue “red lights”. I am respectful of the Sheets’ career, and truly hope they are turning a more peaceful chapter in their lives. Besides, Nicky’s listing is a really good deal, and it’s my job to show you really good deals!
Thank you Candy. I knew the answer, but it needed to be said.
So, amanda/Amanda, you asked, “If the EMS and Nicky were delinquent in paying D, then how did everyone know about it?”
In the link Candy posted it says, “After [D Magazine's] business department experienced payment issues with [Mowery Sheets]…” IOW, they were delinquent.
Back to the first poster’s question. Have EMS and Nicky settled up those “payment issues”? Also, are the Sheets, or Caldwell Banker on behalf of the Sheets, currently advertising in the D Publishing group? And if so, when did they re-start?
Why is Eleanor’s web site disabled or shut down? Why does she have no listings at Keller-Williams (re their web site)? Has she retired?
Looks like Nicky already lost the listing at 4512 Beverly. Somebody type the address into any MLS search if you want to verify.
So, Candy. You never answered the question. Have the Sheets settled their billing issues with D Publishing and are they, or their affiliates on their behalf, buying ad space in D’s magazines or Web properties? When did the advertising resume?
Is this your first post about either of the Sheets since the cover story on the couple was published?
