More East Dallas Car Jackings: Ridgewood Crime Alert

I know we all consider crime stats when we shop for a new home. If you are circling the Mockingbird/Abrams area, know this: A crime alert from the Ridgewood Community, where two more car highjackings were reported Thursday, is putting everyone on high alert for the perpetrator who seems pretty brazen:

“There have been two more carjacking incidents just yesterday….both close to Mockingbird and Abrams. One happened to the neighbor of a co-worker here at NMD this afternoon and the scary thing is that it happened at her home which is just right off of Mockingbird & Abrams.
The other is referenced in an email sent today (Friday) to St. Thomas parents….this occurred yesterday (Thursday). Apparently, even with all of the recent news and press on this, the suspect has not slowed down or moved to another area. As you will read below, the attacker, black male with a gap between his teeth, in both incidents was dressed as a “security guard” or “construction worker” and appears to be clean cut. Please be aware of your surroundings and pass this on to anyone else in the neighborhood… including your nanny– many of us have a nanny that takes the kids to and from school, events and activities in this area. The thought of him stealing the car with your child in the car seat is enough to have all of us in this area on extra alert.”

Using Twitter To Diss A Bad Dallas Landlord… Or Builder?

Over at the Park Cities People Blog, Merritt Patterson got wind of a Wi Fi Network called iHateMyLandlord. A few days ago I asked if anyone in Dallas was selling their home via Twitter, as one New Jersey man is trying to do. Still waiting for more responses, but a local builder tells me that consumers are using Twitter to “rate” them — in some cases venting. (This builder said he’d like to Twitter  some of his “lazy-ass” subs, but doesn’t think they would care that much.) After reading Merritt’s post, I wonder, are tenants Twittering on bad landlords?
