Big House On Douglas: Keep Out, No Photos, No Trespassing

Surely you’ve seen this house just north of Northwest Highway on Douglas, 20,000 square feet of stone and stucco and half a million dollars in landscaping — so many Jerusalem Palms you’d think you were in Lebanon. Folks used to tell me this had to be the Bush home. An armed security guard is posted 24/7 and the signs clearly say “stay out”. Stay tuned: don’t want to get shot or arrested, but I have to find out what this is all about.

I drive by this construction site every day going to and from work! Any idea whose house it is? It has been unconstruction for ever!

I drive by this house everyday, too, and wonder who it belongs to. I also always think, tacky, tacky, tacky!

The house from what D magazine mentioned in the “100 most expensive homes” issue says the house belongs to some guy named Barnes, an eye glass tycoon.
