DallasDirt Exclusive: The Bushes’ Dallas Home(s)???

The President and Laura Bush will soon be coming home to Dallas. It won’t be long before we spot them in Tom Thumb at Preston Royal. For months we have obsessed over where they would end up living. Current cocktail chatter points to what I’ve said all along — Preston Hollow — and a nook of a street called Daria Place.

Here’s why: on October 1, Robert A. McCleskey bought a home at 10141 Daria Place. McCleskey is the Bushes’ Midland accountant and good friend of the First Couple. He’s also the man who placed the Bushes’ assets in a blind trust when W. became governor of Texas in 1995. McCleskey bought the home from Dan and Laura Boeckman. As far as I know, it hadn’t been on the market. (Of note: Dan Boeckman is one of the investors in Museum Tower.)

Daria Place is a sweet, leafy cul de sac off Daria Drive, which is off Meaders, in Preston Hollow, and across from Pershing Elementary School. (Read: uber safe.) Though the home was built in 1959, the interior has been completely refurbished and beautifully decked out — totally top notch, according to my sources, and contemporary. The one-story home has 8,501 square feet on 1.13 acres and no pool. The Bushes already have a pool at the Crawford ranch, which the President once called a “whine” pool. The kids whine so much, you just give in. This home has been placed in a trust.

Last week, the house next door, 10151 Daria Place, went under contract. The home, a sprawling 4,684-square-foot ranch on 1.26 acres, is unoccupied and in the estate of Joan Northway. It is listed for $1.6 million by LeeLee Gioia and Anne Goyler with Briggs-Freeman. The buyer on the contract: an Allie Beth Allman “property company and/or assigns.” The home is set to close December 10. Also no pool, just a creek running along the northern property line.

“We have no idea who the buyer is,” said Gioia, one of Briggs-Freeman’s most dynamic agents. “We operated like Madame X was buying the property.”

I called Pierce Allman over at ABA, since Allie Beth is the Bushes’ agent. He told me that all kinds of stories are circulating out there. He did not confirm my theory.

So here’s what I’m thinking: the Bushes will live at 10141 Daria and plop the Secret Service in 10151. They might also plop the President’s office in that home. Or they might tear it down for more land. Or they might live in 10141 while they build on 10151. All sorts of options.

This is the perfect setting for the Bushes for many reasons. A cul de sac, so the neighbors could agree to gate it off. Easy Tollway access down at Walnut Hill Lane (an entrance ramp south at Meaders would be mighty handy) or up at Royal. Cooper Aerobics is just a couple of miles north. Gosh, he could almost jog up there. And Laura could even volunteer at Pershing Elementary or St. Mark’s. But the best thing: both properties back up to two enormous Dallas estates — the 14.26-acre estate of Gene and Roxanne Phillips (just had a trout-filled lake installed on the property) and the 24-plus-acre estate of Thomas O. and Cinda Hicks, who hosted a fundraiser in their home for former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani last year. Seclusion, safety, and true blue — make that red — friends all around them.

Welcome home!

Update: the DMN has now run with the story and obliquely given DallasDirt credit for the scoop.

First we are confronted with Dutch Elm Disease descimating the groves. Then we learn that Polio is staging a comback. Now this. It’s like Malaria; it never really goes away. Pass the quinine.

Ding, ding, ding! You get the prize Candy!

  • Dr. House

“A cul de sac, so the neighbors could agree to gate it off.”

What if we want to gate THEM off?

  • I'm Just Sayin'

Candy, you are amazing. Congrats o getting the scoop! All I have to say is “Thank you Jesus!” they aren’t coming to Park Cities. Preston Hollow can have them… Now if Bill decides to move to town, there’s a lovely 4,500 sq. ft. McMansion next door to me I’d be happy to let them have.

  • midway hollow

    Welcome home Mr. President.

  • Drew

Candy, will you be correcting Cindy Adams when she gets this wrong yet again?

    Congrats on the scoop!

  • amanda

Love it! Candy, you are amazing!

  • bw

How appropriate that its right off of Gaywood and Hollow Way.

  • Michael Davis

How fitting that you get all of the details.

Ch. 5 and the other stations copied your story the other day and acted like they were breaking it as new news.

  • amyg

    WHY DALLAS?????? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

  • KHaun

    Candy you are awesome!!!

  • James

It’s fine if you disagree with his politics, but why do you have to hate the man? It sounds like a bunch of 3rd graders decided to post on here- it’s all a bit silly! Grow up people!!!

  • 3d Grader

@James. Because disagreeing with someone’s “politics” means disagreeing with his thoughts and morals which is how they came up with their political agenda. Which means disagreeing with the basic fundamentals that makes up a person. Therefore disagreeing with someone’s politics equals disagreeing with a person. I disagree with him. We could agree to disagree or I could just hate him. Considering that under his leadership our country’s in the toilet, I choose to hate him. So there.

  • Joe

    I’m with James.

  • Moose Knuckle Suckle

“3d” Grader you’ll never become a “4h” Grader if you keep that up.

  • Peterk

Close but no cigar, the house is just outside the historical boundaries of Preston Hollow

When Bush departs Washington and moves to Preston Hollow, he will have both raised the intellectual level of Washington and lowered it in Preston Hollow.

  • Ace

so where will the Cheney’s land?

  • thomas

Hopefully, next door to the 3rd grader……………

  • Tony So

Where will Chney’s land? Any ….
Make sure Cheney does not do any hunting on land near you, or put it this way: do NOT go hunting with him. He will … Ooo, ……

No name this time to avoid …..

  • Jeff Duffey

You know there’s a little part of the Park Cities that is mad about this. :) Only if they had the land…

  • Tony

Sweet Baby Jesus! There goes the neighborhood.

Don’t we have zoning regulations against things like this??

  • ap

Candy – well, it must be official.. a post about it yesterday morning over at Doug Newby’s blog confirms the same thing…
President and Mrs. Bush’s New Home?

  • ap
  • C.R.

Well, we did hear The Prez. and Mrs. Bush would be keeping their new digs low key–very in keeping with the homes we’ve known them to own (especially their last one in our neck of the woods).

In their new place, President Bush can walk through Tom Hicks’s backyard and have a couple of Dr. Peppers with the mogul any time he wants; probably a pretty convenient “back entrance” to political fundraisers too… And maybe, just maybe, Mrs. Bush can do story time at the Public Library on Royal Lane…but she’d have to find a way to work the secret service into the gig (pretty sure the little ones could be more captivated by hulking figures wearing dark suits, sunglasses, and earpieces than by “Green Eggs and Ham.”)

Way to get “The Dirt,” Candy. You hear from any of the neighbors yet?

  • Ron

    Let the protests begin!
We can give him a real “Texas” welcome

  • KellyK

I am confused as to how this is an “Exclusive” I got the story from Fox 4 with my morning coffee. Shaking my head the entire time of course.

  • Will

Out of curiousity, which of his policies do you hate, and how did your liberal congressman vote on those policies?

Most of the people I ask tend to hate Bush for many of the things that Congress passed. If you look real hard, you will find that the Democratic congress has far lower approval ratings than the President, and that they are responsible for so many of our current problems, i.e. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

    As, President’s don’t approve wars.

  • SC Repub

I can’t believe how rude some of y’all are – you’re giving the south a bad name. Like him politically or not he is the President and the office deserves respect. Isn’t that the line of thought all of you Obama ppl are trying to use on the other 48% of the electorate? He won so you have to like it? Well the Bushs served their country for eight years, and like it or not, they deserve thanks and respect.

  • Tom Abdella

Thank you President Bush for keeping us safe while all the useful traitorous idiots were yipping at your heels. Apparently they are still afflcited with Bush Derangement Syndrome and have suffered since your victory over Soreloserman in 2000. They will take their resentment to the grave. God bless you for leading us through a difficult time.

  • Response

to Kelly K: DallasDirt broke the story… look when she posted it… 12/03 at 7:01.

  • Nate

While I’m glad that he is coming back to Dallas, I’m still amazed at how many people speak of their hate for him. What I’m curious about is how his Presidency would have been if 9/11 had NOT occurred. That’s where his leadership took a total left turn from what we had envisioned. He showed his determination and strength, but only because we needed it.
So all you Bush haters can say what you like, but he pulled this country thru a mass of unfortunate events that his predecessor nurtured. You can deny it all you like, but it’s true.
I look forward to meeting him one day and joining him for a morning bike ride.

  • Chica

Yea, the difficult times he created!

  • Real Texan

Welcome home George and Laura! And to all you bitter, sad people – You never have to see him, I doubt you all spend much time in Preston Hollow, it’s rather a hike from Bedford or where-ever the trash lives.

  • Nancy Nichols

Liquor may be quicker but Candy is dandy!

  • Sharon

I love The Bushes, welcome home! They are both very nice people.

  • Moose Knuckle Suckle

    4 more years….4 more years….

Decades from now W will be recognized as one of the best POTUS’ our nation ever had. He faced one of the most difficult times in history and kept our nation from falling. Over time the Bush Doctrine will become one of the bright spots for our nation and the world. He may not be popular but he was justified and he was right. I thank him for his service and dedication for doing the right thing, instead of the popular thing. Unfortunately, the next guy won’t have the same qualities which is very troublesome for our future as a nation.

  • l8rsk8r

I grew up a few houses down from 10141, and after having the house on the market for a couple of years my parents just sold it a few months ago. The story the Briggs-Freeman realtor is telling about the secretive nature of the sale is remarkably similar to my parents’ sale. Allie Beth Allman herself was also the buyer’s agent. The woman across the street also just sold her house after having it on the market for some time, a year or more, I’d say, although I don’t know the details.

However, it does seem apparent that someone had inside info that the Bushes were planning to move into the neighborhood. And it pisses me off. This sort of behavior is illegal when used in the stock market, after all.

  • Reallllly???

You have got to be kidding me. The president may not be able to “approve” war, but he sure introduced it and lied to the country to get us there. Then, he allowed no-bid contracts for Halliburton and Blackwater. Then, he introduced more deregulation in the market, thus the Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac debacle. The economy is in the toilet thanks to his overspending. Wow – did you use a back hoe to dig a hole that deep to stick your head into? Oh, btw – I am talking about the true Persident – Dick Cheney. Bush was just a yes man, so you can defend him all you want…

  • Razorback2005

After reading this blog, I see why the Connecticut Yankee/Wannabe Texan picked Dallas to call home post White House years. Dallas is the only place ignorant enough to welcome him with open arms. Clueless minds with clueless souls. I pity your ignorance. What happened to Crawford? Oh yeah I forgot, that was just a backdrop. I’m sure it would be an excellent place to house those “Greek Columns” from Obama acceptance speech until 2012.

  • Josie

I also want to welcome President Bush and Laura Bush home. I agree wholeheartedly with Tom Abdella, Nate and Moose Knuckle Suckle. I couldn’t have said it better. To all you hateful people suffering from BDS, Get A Life.

When it’s built, I look forward to visiting the George W Bush Presidential Library.

Thank you President Bush and God bless you.

  • Drew

Candy, you got big love from your nemesis Mama over on Real Estalker.

She gave you especially good props on the last paragraph about your spot on detective work.

    http://realestalker.blogspot.com/2008/12/george-bushes-new-digs.html

    Congrats again!

  • Long Memory

Josie, be certain you check out the WMD exhibit. Oh, wait. Forget it.

  • David Wilson

You people in Texas can have him. He will go down as the worst POTUS of the last 100 years and the Bush doctrine as one of the most arrogant, stupid, and destructive to our country. I am happy there are places like Texas to house such offenders. Try being objective about world events and not seeing Texas and this country as the center of the universe and you might begin to understand why the Bush presidency is hated all over the world. I thank God that President Obama is about to deliver us from the evil brought on by W and his neo-con cronies! Change is coming to America!

  • Robert

Perfect place for the Bushes to land – surrounded by rich, racist, elitists that think there way of life somehow makes our nation a better place. I have always hated Dallas folks and the bushes fit in perfect with that idiot Hicks across the way. And for those who say he led us through difficult times….well he led us into these difficult times. Wost President ever…hope he is a better neighbor!!

  • John

President Bush has done a good job for what he has been dished. and remember what the joe Biden said 6 months til something really bad happens thats what you guys voted for!

Thank you Mr President for your service to the country! You have been a great President!

  • kj

After reading some of the comments on this page about President Bush’s new home in Dallas, I am actually ashamed that there are American people that are so stupid as the hateful things they say about the Bush family. I am proud of President Bush and the way he has kept this country safe for 8 years. This safety may not continue much longer, it has already started to change, as the terriosts know that Pres Bush is leaving. You mentally challanged people that can only think of hating President Bush might want to get your hate filled mind on your own little safety, who knows what will happen the next 4 years? Think about it….

  • Proud Texan

Please God – let all these 3d graders be imports, not native Texans. I hope none of us true Texans are this rude.

Bravo, Candy! You have a gift of sleuthing!

I would love to have them as neighbors. I would love to move to Texas. It is a great state with real people, with real American values. Wait and see how fast the country ends up in the toilet under Obama’s rule.

Really needs to have some basic civic lessons. First of all, Congress approved the Bush plans for Iraq. Remember all the Dems arguing over “Who was for the war before they were against it?” Also, the President can’t just “overspend.” Congress has to vote upon and approve each and every dollar that is spent by the US Government. The President can’t just “whip out” an official US checkbook and start writing.

Also, any “deregulation” has to be either approved by Congress through legislation, or Congress has to look the other way because Congress has “oversight” and a flock of oversight committees monitoring each federal agency. In fact, if you want to hang your hat somewhere on the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac situation, look no further than Barney Frank (Q-D, MASS).

Geez … BDS must be rampant down there in the Texas hill country!

    Clear Thinking in NC!

  • Dr Poon

OK Ok just joking…the man was an oaf of a president but is a decent soul and deserves to live where he wants in peace. whatever his failures, and there where many, he twice won the highest office in the world and scored a fairly solid slice of ass for a wife. In the later respect, he has eclipsed Clinton, the original Bush, Reagan, Carter… rock on bush the younger.

  • Dr Poon

Tarhell, Dude is retiring not running for reelection. He bought a house not invaded a country. ease up on the politics. he’s just another bush on a cul de sac now,

  • Dr Poon

Candy, just checked out your video on 3500 beverly the big $$$ spec. Look no offense intended but i suspect that your personal cul de sac is a bit bushy Indeed im thinking amazon rain forest. trim out. turf out,

  • Razorback2005

I’m also puzzled by the claim that this idiot has protected us? From what I see, the moron has created more terrorist than ever before by lying to get us into the war in Iraq. By focusing on the wrong area, Al Quada has been re surging in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Some protection. With him moving here, I feel more like Dallas is prime target for the terrorist now. Thank God I’m on my way out.

  • patti frain

Tarhell…you need to get a life. What about all the stuff on Obama? He is has very questionalbe friend. William Ayers, the terriorist. Reverend Wright, the racist who hates whites. Just wait and see what suprises your Mr. Obama has in store for this country.

  • Joe

Has anyone noticed how all the newscasts are breaking the story and not attributing it to DallasDirt? Typical. Electronic “reporters” let the print people do their work and don’t give them credit.

Candy, congratulations for staying with the story and breaking it.

  • Lawyer Elizabeth

No Rezko backing for this President? No Ayers or any terrorist living nearby? I’ll be, a man with class and breeding. And he’s moving to Dallas? Welcome home, sir.

  • Josie

Thank you Patti Frain, I like you. Please come and join us in Texas.

David Wilson, Texas and America IS the center of the universe, thank you very much. You are rude sir. Maybe you should be the one to change. You sound like a very jealous person to me. I’m glad you don’t live in Texas.

Yes, yes, yes Tarhell. Thank you.

  • helena

    “William Ayers, the terriorist.” [sic]

…the “Swift Boat ‘08″ desperation tactic didn’t work, so get ready to welcome US President Obama in January! I wish I could welcome “the decider” and his missus to Dallas. Hopefully we won’t all end up at Whole Foods on Lomo Alto at the same time, my word.

  • Phyllis Hammons

I thank God for President George W, who will be remembered in history as great…. because of his courage and faith in God our country was safe and survived…. even while so many people were totally uninformed and only repeated the Michael Moore talking points. These uninformed liberals are the ones who are lacking in intelligence, not George W. Any person who IS STILL ACTIVELY HATING GEORGE W.REVEALS THE TRUE POISON THEY HAVE WITHIN everytime they say these hateful words! I love you, Laura and W.!!

  • Army101stAirborne

As a Vietnam Vet and friends to many of our current troops/vets — we would welcome President & Mrs Bush anytime, anywhere with open arms. Much better than living next to the ILK that on present here… anyday!

Wallow in your SCUM BUCKET YAK all you want. Just proves what low lives you are.

  • Real Texan

Wow! for people that hate Texas and Dallas, they sure do seem to spend alot of time reading our online magazines and such. Oh, gotta run….I am late for my E.A.R.S. (Elitist are Rather Superb) meeting. Today we’re continuing our lifesize game of chess (we use domestics as play pieces)and then it’s time for Faberge’ egg skeet shooting!
    Ta!

  • MC

You haters are so sad. I don’t care for Bill Clinton but I would consider it an honor to have any former president move into our city. I am thrilled they are moving to town.

  • LPM

It’s time to get lives, people. The hateful comments are ridiculous and immature. I agree with MC. It is an honor to have any former president move to Dallas. Welcome home, W.

  • bush43superfan

Welcome home Mr. President. Thank you.

  • Phyllis Hammons

Both George W and Dick Cheney are wonderful, honorable men who have given much of their lives to the service of this country. I shudder to think of the state our country would be in if either Gore or Kerry had been President during these last 8 years. George W. was God’s man for our country! I pray that Obama does not govern as he has in the past and that his radical friends, wife, and passions of the past will not destroy the USA. I pray for our country and its leaders, and still thanking our Lord for George W.

  • Betty

CNN has been reporting that the Bushes will be moving to Preston Hollow since October. What’s the scoop in that? Looks like she stole it from them.

And, what happened to Candy’s adamant assertion earlier this spring that the Bushes were moving to Seneca Drive a couple of doors down from Michelle Nussbaumer’s house — she wasn’t right then, and we can’t trust her now, can we?

  • Joe

    Betty,
    1. Candy also put Preston Hollow on the radar earlier this fall.
    2. CNN didn’t have an address until Candy provided it.
    3. Seneca may have been in the finals but didn’t make the cut.
    4. If you’ll look back on Monday’s DallasDirt, Candy pointed directly to the house in question. Today is Thursday adn the rest of the media is just now reporting the story.

  • Butch

After reading some of this comments i’m so grateful i don’t live near them.
Idots, do you dumbass people think W, cares what you think?

  • Josie

I thank the Lord for President Bush too. You can see his character in the gracious way he has treated Obama during the transition. President Bush loves and is concerned for his country. He wants to help Obama be aware of the danger that is around us. From watching Obama on Fox I think it’s beginning to dawn on him now. It’s not easy to be the President of the United States. It certainly hasn’t been easy for President Bush. People just don’t realize what he’s been faced with the last 8 years. President Bush is God’s man.

I really feel for President Bush and for Laura, his daughters and his parents. President Bush seems to take criticism in stride. But as a wife and mother, I couldn’t stand to hear or read the terrible things that people said about my husband or son. I would be so mad. I’d really want to beat them up. I’m afraid I wouldn’t be a good 1st Lady or 1st Mother.

I’m just so happy that President Bush and Laura are going to be back in Texas soon. I want to see them enjoy life and be able to relax. Lord Willing, someday enjoy adding another son-in-law and grandchildren to the family.

As Phyllis wrote, we need to pray for our country and for Obama. His radical friends are going to be mad as he moves from the left to the center. Michele Obama needs to be proud of America. She needs to emulate Laura Bush. Yes, we need to pray that Obama doesn’t destroy the USA.

    God bless George Bush.

  • sergio

Dallas? Is this before or after the Bush War Crimes Trials?

Bush was also giving great thought to living in Paraguay or maybe Guantanamo

  • Michigan Man

George Bush is and was a great President. History will prove it. Wait and see!!! My family and I wish him nothing but the best!!! Thanks for everying Sir. And to all of you Busch haters, (in the words of the great Gordon Ramsey)…..

    F**K OFF!!!!

  • Josie

Sergio, you’re ridiculous. Read my lips, THERE WILL BE NO BUSH WAR CRIMES TRIALS. What a crazy thing to say. What are you thinking???

How about all the terrorists at Guantanamo moving to your street. You could host a couple of them in your home. I think you’d then be giving great thought to moving away from them. You know the terrorists would love to kill you…to kill all of us.

    Hello…what planet are you from?

  • Rick

I’ve read a lot of these posts but the one from Josie at 7:02PM really makes me want to vomit up the dinner I just ate. I almost thought that post was a prank but knowing these ignorant, simple-minded Evangelicals, I am betting that she is serious. And THAT is really scary. Save us the “God Bless Bush Speech” and go back to knitting your blanket while you listen to KLOVE on the radio with Hannity on FOX in the background feeding you a political agenda that you are too naive and narrow-minded to realize is a bunch of baloney. Try putting down your teacup and your Danielle Steele novel long enough to read an intellectual publication and make an original, substantiated opinion of your own. Pull your grandkids out of Prestonwood “Christian” school and give them some exposure to the real world which will help them grow up to be well-rounded, knowledgable Americans who can speak of issues outside of the little bubble that would otherwise be their sorry pathetic lives. Grow a backbone too while you’re at it.

  • Mark

Some of you people seriously need to grow up.

War crimes? I believe it’s Congress who authorized the war, why aren’t you talking about them?!?!!? Ignorant people here.

  • cutexan

I want to welcome the Bushes to the neighborhood! Hope I run into them around the neighborhood when I go for my run.
Amazing how hateful and classless some people are. So you may not like your neighbor, show some class. Oh, I forget the haters have no class!

  • Major Conger, USMC (Ret)

    Welcome Home Sir!

  • Josie

    Hey Rick,
Please vomit up the dinner you just ate. I don’t really care.

And hey buster, my opinions are my own, I don’t knit or read Danielle Steele, I have plenty of backbone and my grandchildren are smarter than you could ever hope to be. They are well-rounded, knowledgable Americans. Their main advantage over you is that they ARE Christians. You could take a page out of their book.

Are you an American? Or are you a socialist or a communist? What intellectual publications are you even able to read and understand?

Why don’t you get a backbone and stop believing all the intellectual garbage that you read. Most of it is balony. And by the way, why don’t YOU stop being so narrow-minded?

  • C.R.

Wow. I would comment on ann of your comments, but I think that would be BEATING A DEAD HORSE at this point.

We are all free to have opinions…the bad thing about debating them is that no one wins: I can’t make you change your belief(s), or make you think that what your opinions are wrong any more than you can make me change my belief(s), or make me think that my opinions/beliefs are wrong.

    Objective facts:

-The President Elect will be moving into The White House next year

-President Bush will soon become a former President

-President and Mrs. Bush are moving to Dallas once they leave The White House

-2008 will be over 27 days

    -You can’t change the past

So, please, live in the now. It is not 8 years ago. It’s not 4 years ago. It is not the era of John F. Kennedy, or of Ronald Reagan, or of George H.W. Bush, or of Bill Clinton.

You don’t have to forget, or forgive, what has already happened. But, at some point, you do have to stop dwelling on it (that applies to people on both sides of that irritating, all-too-often-referred-to, “aisle”).

Learn from the mistakes, and go forward. It sounds hippie-ish / new-agey / bull-****ty–but please, just use your time, effort, and energy to do something productive…

Look forward to 2009…the new year (read nothing into that: it means what it means in black and white type).

  • C.R.

*on ALL (not “ann”) of your comments

  • Dave

I happened to stumble on to this blog after clicking away from the Fox News concerning Bush’s purchase of a retirement home. god almighty, it was a good reminder to never, ever, consider Texas as the place to live or retire!!!

  • Phyllis Hammons

Rick, I am not a simple-minded evangelical and do not read garbage. Most liberals I know are totally uninformed, getting all of their info from the lies of far-left loons…. like Bush lied. Bill Clinton and all the major world players had the same intel to go on. I read and research politics and current events everyday. You sound like a typical yellow-dog dem who is too lazy to research the facts so you simply repeat the garbage that Sean Penn, Hugo Chaves,Howard Dean, or some other left-wing loon says. Also, it is you who is so narrow-minded!

  • JC

Wow. Fear breeds negativity, and negativity breeds hate. Have no fear fellow americans. We are all going to be okay. A really proud, educated, intelligent, humble, and wise man is about to be your president. Spend less, don’t waste, live morally, and always have more love than hate to give. Quit being douche bags, and accept that the past administration really F’d things up. Times have changed. Out with the old and in with the new.

  • Josie

Hey Dave, it’s your loss, not ours.

  • Tex

Ok, Dave, you can stay in Oklahoma

A bunch of comments on a local blog posting are so indicative of the people who live in that state. Great representative sampling: flawless, in fact.

Don’t worry, we won’t miss you. Bye!

Anyone have any outrageous response? I just insulted OKLAHOMA! Does that strike a cord with anyone?

But anyway, whatever happened to “reaching across the aisle?” Seems like the only time people do that is sucker-punch the opposing side.

    Get a grip, everyone.

  • Josie

Hey JC, spend less? don’t waste? live morally? and love more that hate? Where have you been? I just hope & pray that Obama is wise. His past history doesn’t show that he was. Nor his bad associations.

  • Josie

Tex, we’ll reach across the aisle when people stop insulting President Bush. No BDS…please.

  • Reeves

It will indeed be interesting when George and Laura Bush fade from the headlines and their hate-mongering critics have to focus once again on their own sad, pathetic lives. Perhaps President-Elect Obama will keep them going by becoming as big a disappointment as some expect. I sincerely hope not, for I’m not sure our country would survive it. I am a moderate to right-leaning Republican who would be proud to share a joke or two with “W” while leaning across the back fence of his new home in Dallas — or with Barack, for that matter, though I’m not sure anyone could lean across the White House fence. Speaking of which, I heard one that I’ll pass along to P-E Obama. I believe it was credited to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (or perhaps it was Joe the Plumber, God bless him): “Do you know why Socialism would never work? Because they’d eventually run out of other people’s money.” An East Texas native, I left the state in 1970. Almost four decades later, with retirement just four or five years down the road, I can’t wait to be doing what George and Laura Bush are doing — going home. Best wishes to MY President and MY First Lady. Thanks for everything, and may you both lead long and happy lives in what is indeed the known center of the universe. Y’all come, ya hear?

  • ALF

All Americans have the right to live where they choose. I have many friends with whom I disagree with their politics but we have the same FAITH IN GOD! At least the Bushes have a primary focus on what’s most in important in life. He did his best to protect us and our way of life and succeeded in that. Look at what he inherited from the past presidency? Our economy did not get where it is today in only 8 years! Wake up, America, stop the greed and the Me, Me, Me syndrome that is ruining us. It would be fine with me if Mr. & Mrs. Bush were my neighbors.

  • Susan

Recall that the Bushes lived in PH before he headed off to Austin and the Governorship. He and Laura are merely returning to their old neighborhood.

Rude people show up on these kinds of message boards to show that they are clueless, easily indoctrinated by the DNC, and at the end of the day, they don’t count.

I wish the President and Mrs. Bush the very best in their retirement years, and I believe they will be two of the happiest folks in Texas to finally be back home.

  • Colleywood

Criminy, Candy! Who knew that a story about a possible house purchase would stir up such a wave of controversy. I have pretty strong political views, but I’m pretty ambivalent about where a former president lives. Unless you live on Daria Place, will it really affect anyone?

  • HSH

If moving to Dallas means GWB and the rest of his criminal clan leaves the White House for good, so be it. I’ll take him.

Susan, I beg your pardon, but I do count. Me and hundres of millions of others who elected the smart guy this time around.

George and Laura may be happy to be back, but I’m one of millions not only in the U.S. but around the world who are dancing in the streets that the U.S. national nightmare will soon be over.

P.S., ALF, our economy DID get where it is in the last 8 years. Check the numbers.

  • Eloise from Lufkin TX

Thank you President Bush and Laura for keeping us safe the past 7 years. Welcome home to the great state of Texas.
HSH, you may not be dancing in the street for long….Enjoy it while it last.

  • Eloise from Lufkin TX

Rick, some day…you may be wishing you had what those simple minded evangelical have…real peace of Christ..He will be returning soon…

  • Texas Pete

Too many idiot libs reading D. Maybe George and Laura should’ve chosen a more civilized place like Flower Mound. But hey, most of you doofuses couldn’t afford Preston Hollow anyway.

Welcome home, Mr President and Laura.

  • Mary Beth

In my opinion, the worst part of the campaigning this past year was all the negative remarks concerning our current president. Whether you like the president or not, or agree or disagree with the positions he has taken, the highest office in our country deserves respect. This kind of disrespect embarrasses us all as a country and serves no purpose. No matter who you voted for, the incoming president deserves respect, as well. I’m sure each president strives to do the best he can with the information he has at that time. Hindsight may be 20/20, but unfortunately the presidents do not have that luxury. I’m sure protecting our freedom and keeping us safe is not an easy job for any president. President Bush was elected into office twice and he and his wife and family have my sincere thanks and gratitude. President-elect Obama and his family will have my respect and my thanks and gratitude, as well.

  • Sandy

I love my president, I think George Bush is awesome. I just finished a book called Love is Eternal about Abraham and Mary Lincoln. The Democrats did the same thing to them. They killed him in the end, and tried to drive her mad. But you know what, right comes out right…every time. And we love Abe and Mary today…and I’ll always appreciate President Bush for carrying on..with his head held high…while idiots slung garbage..he kept us safe. I wish them the best in their future. I also hope they do not disappear from life. I know they need a break. But I love a couple that can unnerve the nasty baby killers, homosexuals, etc..etc…etc..and all of their partners in crime the way they do. I have a son in the air force—a son in the army—and a daughter in the guard…and they love him too…Merry Christmas Mr President and Mrs President Bush…I hope its grand in your new home, sign me Greatful American…ps …i hope jeb runs next :)

  • Sandy

ps again..you’re right Eloise…Jesus is coming back very soon..and I’m excited for it!!! the signs are all there…we’re just a waitin!!

  • Sandy

oh yeah…and HSH…I dont think you count either…he served 8 years..and if you voted against..you didnt count…sorry..check the numbers

  • SandyIsAMoronicFck

    Sandy,

If you are trying to compare George W. Bush to Abraham Lincoln, you can stop right there. You’ve lost all credibility. You’re not even being logical, nor are you informed about history. George W. Bush is not in the same league as Abraham Lincoln as a President. Period. You won’t get a single reputable historian to go down you twisted, badly paved, ultimately retarded road with you.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. You might as well compare him to Jesus H. Christ–I mean, why not? If we’re jumping off the deep end here.

You do know that the Democrats THEN were not the Democrats NOW, right? Oh wait, no, you probably don’t.
(the Democrats USED to be the Republicans…the horror–oh my god! a political party re-organized! no way!!!!!). You should have stayed in school / gone to school outside of the home.

No, Jesus is not coming back, sorry. Get over it. You don’t even know the teachings, or the tenets of Christianity if you could say, in good conscience, what you said above.

Learn your history, and your religion, you bigot.

  • Mardi

I am hopeful that some of these postings are just “I can shoot of my mouth without getting caught, cause no one knows me on the net”. Don’t demean my 3rd graders, they have better behavior and attitudes than this.

  • tom in dallas

Now the houses pedigree. I remember the house was originally in either House Beautiful or House and Garden in the 1960’s. NIce space.

  • OakCliff

Written above: “I am proud of President Bush and the way he has kept this country safe for 8 years.”

I guess you really mean “safe for 7 years”–9/11 happened on Bush’s watch in case you forgot.

(Clinton = zero terrorist attacks in eight years, in case you forgot. Also, zero recessions and zero multi-billion dollar bailouts. Oh, but, but, but… Clinton had sex and lied about it! He’s a perjurer! IMPEACH! You got Nixon so we got Clinton. High crimes and misdemeanors indeed.)

Now please make excuses for Bush so that I can use them in the unlikely event that Obama needs them in 8 years.

In other matters, thank you Candy. Great stuff.

  • Patty

So glad to see that at least one person, Susan, got the information right. They are simply returning home to the area they lived in before he became the Governor of Texas. I wish we could throw them a parade to welcome them back home. Then again, some of you haters would crash our party. He’s a good man and Laura is a fine woman. Welcome home Mr. President!

  • Patty

Hey Oak Cliff – Thanks for showing how stupid people from Oak Cliff are. No terrorist attacks under Clinton?? Are you really that ignorant? What about the FIRST World Trade Center Bombing in 1993? The bombing of the USS Cole and the bombing of a US Embassy. ALL ON CLINTON’S WATCH. Perhaps if Clinton had done more the first time the WTC was bombed, we wouldn’t have ever had a 9/11.

  • OakCliff

Patty, I should have known 9/11 was Clinton’s fault. I am stupid.

    Lest I forget:

Date – Attack – Location – American Dead – Injured
    2/1993 – World Trade Center – USA NY – 6 – 1,042
    8/1998 – 2 US Embassies – Dar es Salaam & Nairobi – 12 – ?
    10/2000 – USS Cole – Aden (Middle East) – 17 – 39
    9/2001 – 9/11 – USA NY, VA, PA – 2,998 – 6,291+

I use “American Dead” as shorthand. The US Embassy attacks had thousands of local citizens killed and injured. 9/11 killed citizens of numerous countries.

Patty, Should we include or exclude the terrorist attacks overseas that appear to target Americans or their allies?

  • OakCliff

Patty, Which recessions and multi-billion dollar bailouts under Clinton did I forget?

  • Eddy

Praise Jesus and pass the ammunition. I suggest you Texans whole up in your McAlamos for the next 8 years, because the second coming has arrived, our next President, Barack Hussein Obama. You all can go down in a blaze of glorified ignorance like Bowie and Crockett. To paraphrase a famous Texan, “You Texans can stay in Hell, I am going to Washington DC”, to watch the the election of our next President! Mark my words, this country will never go back to a government like Bush’s where ignorance, arrogance, greed, and corruption ruled the day.

  • Reallllly???

    Where to start…

    Josie @ December 4th, 2008 at 7:15 pm

Sergio, you’re ridiculous. Read my lips, THERE WILL BE NO BUSH WAR CRIMES TRIALS. What a crazy thing to say. What are you thinking???

How about all the terrorists at Guantanamo moving to your street. You could host a couple of them in your home. I think you’d then be giving great thought to moving away from them. You know the terrorists would love to kill you…to kill all of us.

Josie – I would not mind at all, since many of them WERE NOT terrorists and were imprisoned and tortured with disregard to their civil rights. I hope you NEVER have to go through what these poor people have been put through. I am very proud of Obama for vowing to close Guantanamo and that dark chapter in American history.

Oh and BTW Josie – you call Bush God’s man. That makes me feel ever so much better that I don’t have to believe in your god – since he/she is such an idiot to pick W as his/her man!!!

  • Claire Voyant

you christians need to cram it…with alacrity. the fact of the matter is that a bible-beating, honky-tonky, ignorant sap is going to be living next to some Hicks. sing your jingoistic kum ba yahs in private while the next nig-nog is in office giving our country its next inevitable enema.

anybody else find it ironic that the Shrubs are going to be living on a street named “Daria?” indeed, Daria was a pretty witty, animated slut in her heyday. i’m sure she would have some choice commentary on the transcontinental (÷2) move. i’d even bet my house (and gladly, i might add–my ARM is about tear me a new one and i’ve had to double-up on the Xanax over the last month or so…but i digress) that she would leave some Miracle-Gro on the Shrubs’ front porch as a housewarming gift. what a canny cooter.

  • Realizt

I am not at all religious and I have always liked President Bush. Many of you are way off in accessing his presidency. He isn’t responsible at all on the economy, nor was he responsible for the 9/11 attacks. This is just left wing propaganda that has been churned up for years, completely ridiculous and has no merit. Actually Bush’s economy thrived until recently and there were many reasons it has faltered, but primarily it’s gotten weaker because of the people. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that if you’re making $14.00 as hour you can’t afford a $200,000 house.. we shot ourselves in the foot and Freddie Man and Fannie Mae helped along with all the banks that were so stupid issuing loans and getting told by Acorn that they “had” too (Thank a Dem for that debacle). Clinton had a shot at Osama and blew it and he took the country off guard. Long before his disastrous terms in the white house we have Carter who killed our intelligence community; you can thank a Dem for that as well. It’s always been a Dem M.O., that is they act like they know what they are talking about but they haven’t got a clue.. Actually they get caught up in left wing propaganda and believe it. Read the comments on the Guantanamo prisoners above to see just how preposterous some of these posters are.

  • Frank Thompson

It’s exciting times for Dallas and Preston Hollow. I can’t imagine how the neighborhood will change.

To set things straight, I’m pretty sure I saw the story on the 6PM Fox 4 news…the entry here is after 7PM.

  • Josie

I don’t understand all you folks that voted for Barack Obama. He won and it seems that you’d all be so happy that you could let the Bush’s retire in peace. But you’re not happy. You’re full of bitterness and hate. Why? I think something very serious is missing in your lives. And you need to find it so you’ll have some peace in your lives.

  • Ms. Interpretation

“He isn’t responsible at all on the economy…”

That isn’t true, at all. The president cannot be held FULLY responsible for the economy, however, he can be held accountable for decisions he and his administration were responsible for setting into motion. Remember that “economic stimulus check?” Bush + Bush administration. He can also be accountable for the trusted advisors he put in place…who ultimately defer to him as the commander in chief. Sorry, the highest office of the land DOES come with responsibilities. You have to answer to the American People for what happens on your watch, end of story. Don’t like it? Don’t become president. Wow, that simple. Who woulda thunk it? Not you, not after your apparent brain fart of an excuse for an intelligent thought process…

Consumer confidence / lack of it? Well, if you don’t think that’s in some way related to the confidence the American public has in its president…cough…sorry, it might be over your head, but things are actually connected: the sitting president, the president’s administration, advisors, policy, appointees, the economy.

THE ERA OF GEORGE BUSH THE YOUNGER WAS THE ERA OF BIG CORPORATE / BIG MONEY CIRCLE JERKING!!! IF YOU WEREN’T RICH, YOU DIDN’T GET A HAND!!!! (PUN ABSOLUTELY INTENDED)

If you don’t see it, then I can’t make you see it. The only people who benefited under his economic policies are people who already had lots and lots of money: rich people, and rich corporations. The average American got LESS during the last 8 years, than they had gotten under the Clinton administration (which was not much, really). Sorry, that really is the way it is. Too bad that too many working people in America seem to think that one day they will become fabulously wealthy, and vote as though they are fabulously wealthy at the moment (despite obvious indications to the contrary)…

“…nor was he responsible for the 9/11 attacks.”

No, he probably wasn’t. It really looks like ignorance/negligence on behalf of our intelligence agencies–and their failure to communicate with eachother, or communicate with the public.

“Actually Bush’s economy thrived until recently and there were many reasons it has faltered, but primarily it’s gotten weaker because of the people.”

Uh….did you have a mini-stroke while typing this? Or maybe you’ve been having them since 2000 and just don’t realize it? Let’s recap: starting in 2000 we had a budget surplus, and a balanced budget. And then all kinds of things happened with Bush The Younger at the helm. 9-11 opened the door to a big-government, neo-conservative’s wet dream. Defense spending took off and never came back to earth. Suddenly, we had spent all of that surplus money–all in the name of American Freedom, of course. Tax breaks have been afforded to the wealthy and wealthy corporations–so, tax revenue has dropped, and, sorry Reaganomics / trickle down theory hasn’t worked. Further, that lovely economic stimulus package that gave the average American $400 ish dollars didn’t do anything other than give away money wastefully. Yeah, invest that in the markets–what are you going to buy with $400 in terms of stock and bonds? Ha ha, nice try.

We have not had a thriving economy. Since 2000 we have taken a nosedive into the biggest economic pit we have ever seen as a country. Period. Biggest deficit. Biggest big government spending. EVER. Unprecedented. So, how, does digging us into a hole with administration spending policies and agendas (let’s look at the massive defense budget, which in 7 years has managed to swell faster than Hef’s member on viagra when he sees the girls next door skinny dipping in the grotto), pointless and ineffective economic stimulus packages, promote this fictional “thriving” economy?

By your logic, Clinton had a shot at Osama Bin Ladin and missed. Ok, let’s say he did (let’s just assume that). George W. Bush never even had this elusive figure in his line of sight. Never had an opportunity to take the shot because he was too pre-occupied / too incapable / inept to find him. Unless, maybe, he thought he was the dictator of Iraq…his bad, dudes!

Talk about preposterous. Did you ever go to school? Did you have a frontal lobe lobotomy, or have you always been this moronic?

I mean, you’re free to say what you want and think what you want, but damn. People who disagree with you still get to disagree. Ok, I’m done. You can go back to listening to Rush Limbaugh and reading the wisdom of Phyllis Schlafly….better yet, just move to Alabama/Mississippi: it’s still 1951 there.

  • HSH

    Josie:

Nothing at all missing here. And I won’t be missing Dubya in the White House, either.

As to retiring in peace, he’s welcome do that after he’s answered for lying to the American people, invading a country that had not attacked us, torture, gutting the economy, giving away our natural habitat to polluters, pissing off the entire planet and being the least interested or interesting President in our history.

  • Mary109

    Josie@Dec. 5th
I couldn’t agree with you more. It is shameful the way the President & Mrs. Bush have treated by this country (the liberals and the LIBERAL PRESS). They deserve our gratitude and admiration for their service. I believe Pres. Bush is a godly man and did what was right inspite of popular opinion. Obama will have to back track more every day when he gets the information given only to the Pres. God help us all and this great country! I pray Mr. Obama is who he says he is and will be governed by GOD, not Rev. Wright. Go get em’ Josie!!!!

  • Joe

    Frank,
If you will check Candy’s entries on Monday, you’ll see that she was way ahead of the pack.

  • C.R.

Ok, please please please cut the “governed by god” nonsense. What do you think this is? A monarchy? The President of The United States of America is elected by the American voting public. He, or she (though that hasn’t happened yet), is not appointed by god. He is not Louis XIV, and he does not invoke the name of god in exercising his powers….so quit it already.

You are all free to believe in god, if you choose to. Other people are free to not share your same beliefs: please stop trying to convert them.

  • Good Lord

Chill out, people! This is a blog about Dallas area real estate, not a political forum.

  • Wick's Candy

“This is a blog about Dallas area real estate”

OK, Finally someone said something funny.

  • Frank Thompson

    Joe,
Don’t get me wrong… I give her credit. However, the link she posted Monday was for 10151 Daria Place. Isn’t that the wrong house?? I’m almost certain Fox 4 in their 6pm show that day had said it was more likely the house next door b/c the Bush accountant made the purchase….then dallasdirt post hit at 7:01 with the same info. Maybe she had info already, but I don’t see how that makes it an “exclusive” when her info was posted after the fact…that’s all I’m sayin’

  • OldDallassNative

Hmm, what happen to moving to “The HP”? I thought they were moving across the street from the old Cheney place?

  • HSH

Since Dallas real estate is totally in the crapper, why not make this about politics?

And all this “Bush was God’s President” stuff is flat out nuts. This is not a theocracy (I know, it’s a big word — look it up). Iran is a theocracy. And I’m guessing lots of you aren’t big fans of folks who speak Farsi.

  • LisaMatheny

They can come to my house anytime…..but we only have Diet DP.

Welcome to Dallas, President & Mrs. Bush. If you get thirsty for some ice cold Diet DP, come west a few blocks and hang out with us.

  • L Wayne

Welcome to the neighborhood Mr. President! I disagreed with many of your policy and executive decisions, but as a citizen you are most welcome here. Now to observe Barack Obama for four years – I fear he will become the Jimmy Carter of our time.

  • hoping

Why is everyone so angry? I never voted for Bush and I am glad to see his terms up, but I do not agree on attacking people who backed him. Are we not all entitled to our own views? Same goes for Bush supporters. Why do you despise democrats so much? The name throwing is ridiculous. Everyone post how intelligent they are, but all the post I have read sound pretty ignorant.

  • Gladly

How fitting that the city that murdered one of the greatest presidents in history is now home to the worst president in history. Perfect Dallas, perfect!

  • John

I’m assuming the other home sale on the street could be to Jeff Gannon.

Indirectly, there may be a Secret Service angle. Sure, George’s and Jeff’s “secret” would no longer be a secret now, but the “service” could continue.

I wish George happiness and bliss in the welcoming arms of “Big D.”

  • jeff marcowitz

I, like many others am not a Bush “fan”. However should I run into him or Laura at North Park or in the Villiage I will be polite and curtious as I would expect any other good southern gentleman would. I certainly do not wish harm or bad things for him and his family. As for hate that is an awfully strong word and emotion. I am gay, a liberal and far from being a christian so I am glad he is is leaving D.C. but I am sure I’m no more glad then he! He looks relieved. What I am responding to is all this hate stuff being tossed around. People come on! Hate? You sound like the right wing for heavens sake. As for the “Real Texan” I some how doubt as to your having been to the manor born either. People with breeding do not refer to people lesser than them in “status” as trash. We just don’t. Had you been properly reared you would have been told about noblesse oblige. Unless a person lives inside a mile or so of Daria Place it’s unlikely we will ever see the President so I suggest live and let live. Jeff Marcowitz

  • John Tiller

Thank goodness they will not screw up the Park Cities. Remember every time they go somewhere it further adds to the traffic problem we already have. As many people as there are, i.e., terrorist he will have to have a looooooot of protection where ever he goes.

  • John

DARIA PLACE? It is ironic that there is one DARIA PLACE that counsels the mentally ill. DARIA Reagan, the wife of Ron Reagan, is a psychologist. So, one DARIA does indeed have a “PLACE” where she and her clients can talk about mental illness. I think it’s safe to say that DARIA Reagan would recommend counseling for George W. Bush. As far as I am concerned, George W. Bush is the poster boy for mental illness.

You can bet your grits that George W. Bush will never seek mental health counseling at the other DARIA PLACE. Sadly, millions of lives have been radically altered and changed by this demented man. In fact, many folks are no longer here.

In the unlikely event I would run into George W. Bush, I would simply ignore him. After all, he belittled everyone who stood in his way.

  • Claire Voyant

John Tiller, you are a terrorist.

  • Realizt

    Ms Interpritation-
Sorry, Your wrong all all counts. Do your homework, go back to school.

  • LisaM

Can’t we all just get along and look at Dallas Real Estate Porn?

  • Liz

Some of you people are pathetic. As for 3d grader, it is absolutely possible to disagree with someone’s political beliefs with hating them. You are extremely ignorant to think otherwise. I cannot believe the hatred that the people on this post are displaying. Even though you disagree with the President, you should thank the man for trying to keep your country safe.

  • Dave

Jesus Christ there are some real nutballs in this world.

  • John

    LisaM,

No doubt George W. Bush will be all hot and bothered when he watches DEBBIE DOES PRESTON HOLLOW.

  • John

On second thought, make that flick JEFFIE DOES PRESTON HOLLOW.

  • Southlake Texas

George and Laura Bush, Welcome Home and thank you for your service !!!!

  • Palinoscopy

The people that place negative comments about Bush on this website represent just a ultra tiny …very tiny sample of those that feel Bush has destroyed our country.
Step outside the local blogs. People are now lashing out at Dallas for becoming the home of Bush/Cheney. The people who suffer the most are the local ones that speak out the most against Bush. The world hates the city that I love and the city I love hates me for having a different belief system.

  • Palinoscopy

In reference to people bashing those who voted for Bush….only those who voted for him a second time are the ones that must take total responsibility for this war and all that goes with that. It is not very pretty. Maybe that is why the world hates us!

  • Palinoscopy

No, wait a second, I think it is the economy that Bush destroyed and the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs, that must be why the world hates us.

  • Palinoscopy

Oh, I forgot about the spying and listening in on personal phone calls…but that was when people could afford houses to live in.

  • Palinoscopy

Ooops, there was Katrina too. When his Mom said those people should be lucky to be living in squander, as they are use to it.
Yeah, Katrina, people will think of Bush when they think of Katrina, then think of Dallas.

  • Palinoscopy

You know, come to think about it, all his cronies live here too and probably many of them are on the blog defending him right now and trying to find out the IP address of those that disagree so they can have them sent to Guantanamo Bay….oh I forgot about Guantanamo Bay and Abu Gehraib. Yeah, those people will never forget and unlikely to forgive. Would you?

  • Palinoscopy

Have you ever thought that while the rest of the world gets to be part of the change, we are burdened with housing the old.

  • LisaM

    Palinoscopy-

You sound like YOU need to head on over for an ice cold Diet Dr Pepper. And a few Prozac.

  • Liz

I second that LisaM. You republican/Bush/conservative bashers need to move on and focus on improving the state of the world that we live rather than focusing all of your negative energy towards Bush. I will be the first to admit that I am not a Obama supporter, but that does not mean that I am going to sit around all day ever day bashing him and his political beliefs. He is our President now and I must live it. Just like Bush has been our President for the last 8 years……get over and use your energy elsewhere. Bush is not to blame for everything that is wrong in our country.

  • Palinoscopy

    Liz
He is to blame for EVERYTHING. The buck stops with him, to think otherwise simply means that YOU need some Prozac as you are not living in the REAL world.
Stupid comparison lady. Obama has NOT been President and you have pre judged him. There is nothing to dislike. He has not done anything to dislike.
On the other hand, we can move on and make sure that Bush is held accountable for his war crimes.

  • Liz

Oh that’s right, how could I be so stupid, Bush IS to blame for all of those people that went out and bought homes that they could not afford because the financial institutons became lending-happy…..now all of those same people are crying and whining because their house is being foreclosed on because they can’t afford their mortgage payments.

Oh, and that’s right, Bush is to blame for those individuals that crashed their planes into the twin towers on September 11, 2001 wreaking havoc on our country.

Oh, and that’s right, Bush is responsible for Hurricane Katrina. I forgot that he has some magical powers that make the rains fall at the push of a button.

Get over the fact that Bush is going to be living in Dallas. I seriuosly that doubt that him living in Dallas is going to effect you in any way. In case you are not aware, Texas is a red state, so if that in any bothers you, I suggest that you should move elsewhere.

And no, I have not prejudged Obama. I am fully aware that I disagree with his political beliefs; that does not, however, mean that I am going to around bashing the president-elect of our country just because I disagree with. That is your opinion that there is nothing to dislike about the man. Just like I have the right to believe that Bush is not to blame for everything.

I’ll just tell you what my mama told me when I whined about how she was raising me….. “Lets see how you do with your own kids.”

So, Palinoscopy, let’s see how Obama does in the White House. He will inherit problems just as Bush inherited problems from Clinton. Where you and I differ is that I realize the limit of any president’s power. I’m also going to give the Obamas my prayerful support. He has a tough job ahead of him and needs all the support he and his beautiful family can get.

The real power in Washington is in Congress, which has been Democratically conrolled for years. So if you want to blame someone for the mess this country’s in, blame the people who make the laws.

If you want some Prozac, visit your doctor.
If you want an ice cold Diet Dr. Pepper, ummm, stop by 7-11. You couldn’t share DDP with me because I’d have to duct tape your mouth shut just to be around you. So the invite is rescinded.

    Have a wonderful day!

Watch the liberal robots repeat the same mantra over and over again. Mindless, liberal robot drones, unable to think for themselves, towing the party line. Stalin would be proud.

  • Adam

It is so pathetic seeing how many people have bought into the Obama “lie” of bringing more peace and ending the war, etc. Obama is a product of the vast Democratic political machine and his left of left wing policies will perhaps bring our enemies even closer. Couple that with our growing adoption of Europe’s pasifist and, yes, socialist ideals (born out of the vast hatred of Bush) and we are in big trouble. With maybe a few exceptions, those that put down Bush as in these posts are a bunch of whiny, spineless cowards. Bush has kept our enemies away from us and generally kept us safe from another terrorist attack for 8 years!

After reading many of the rants here, I’ve concluded that most of the people in Dallas must be idiots. I’d expect such blind hatred from New Yorkers and other knuckle-draggers, but I always thought Dallas was a pretty cool place. Guess I was wrong.

Unfortunately, this was the most depressing Christmas since the Great Depression. Thanks, George.

George, Merry Christmas to the grinch [ you ] who stole millions. Merry Christmas to your friends who stole billions. Gosh, there’s seemingly little accountability with the bailout billions going to banks. How convenient!

I’m beginning to think that you and Bernard Madoff were twins separated at birth. Both of you deceived a lot of people for a long time. In addition, both of you MADE OFF with a lot of loot. How convenient!

George, I really think you married the wrong woman. Leona Helmsley, the QUEEN OF MEAN, would have been the pefect wife. Really, it doesn’t get any better than TWO QUEENS OF MEAN. At least Leona would have willed you millions. After all, you’re a dog and you’re TROUBLE.

I hope you had a wonderful day opening your presents. No doubt one of your billionaire friends, now an ex-friend, gave you a 10-year mental health gift certificate for counseling. Dr. Phil can work miracles, but I’m afraid your brain has been fried to a crisp by alcohol and drugs.

Just a quick note on “W” & Laura moving to the Preston Hollow area, just watch “CraWford, TX – the movie”
It’s a documentary on Crawford, TX before and after the Bush days.
Talk about “small town America with big political ideas”. WoW! This
town has really come full circle and then some. Very profound, smart, and sometimes funny…just read the great reviews. So DALLAS, like it or not, the Bushs’ are rollin’ into town…

    I agree…

Oh what a surprise, all the rich arrognant Dallas residents are jumping with joy and now think they are even greater than everyone else because not only do they get to drive a Mercedes like assholes but they also get to possibly rub shoulders with our former president!
I’d like to take this opportunity to fill you in that there’s more to life than things and status. Just because someone with a significant title is moving to Dallas, doesn’t make you any better. It actually just makes Dallas the city a little more interesting, not you rich assholes. I don’t know if you know this but because most (NOT all) rich arrognant people in this town, Dallas has a bad reputation for having the rudest people.
The only thing I can agree with you on, is that Bush is and soon will be our ex- president and whether or not you like him, you should respect him.

MISS George W. Bush? Ho, ho, ho, ho. What a joke! Millions of folks around the world will not MISS George W. Bush.

During the past few weeks we’ve become all too familiar with ponzi schemes. Essentially, a ponzi scheme is robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Nationwide, the current topic of discussion seems to be talking about the Bush legacy. From my point of view, part of the Bush legacy is indeed a pansy scheme. It’s quite possible that a ponzi scheme is the equation, too, but a pansy scheme is most definitely in the Bush legacy equation. Oddly enough, robbing Peter to pay Paul sums up the Bush pansy scheme quite nicely.

Let’s just say there were probably a few Robs, lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of PETERS, and maybe a Paul. Maybe there was a payment to Paul? Maybe there was a payment to Jeff? Duh! Duh!

No one chooses their sexual orientation. No! And it’s perfectly okay to be either gay, lesbian, or bisexual. But let’s make one thing clear: It’s not okay to be a hypocrite.

George W. Bush, this is your last full day in office. I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time.

    Bi, bi!

    CRAZY stuff…
I was born here [St. Paul], and went to a “Preston Hollow” school. Well, we lived in the Lake Highlands area at the time [and commuted] and I just went with it. I loved it. Small classes, individual attention from teachers -yes, it was “fun” learning, they even offered a bottle cold pop at the end of the day they gave me a quarter – guess I was a favorite)! Just like small town America, I guess, since I endend up with a great job while in college in New York and Chicago, where I settled. And now, I find myself extemely liberal…what gives?
What happned to being NICE? Preston Hollow, brace yourself…I heard the most awful slogan: The World Hates The United States, The United States Hates Texas, Houston Hates Dallas, And Dallas Hates Highland Park…

    Now, is this just DALLAS?

  • Ann Gray

To all of you being so negative about Bush moving to Dallas……you should be ashamed of yourself. Didn’t your Mother teach you to shut up if you couldn’t say something nice? And, you probably show up in church on Sunday and claim to be a Christian. Bush may not have been the Leader you needed him to be but he is a human being. And how can you find fault in Laura?

  • ann

    WHAT, NO POOL. THATS HORRIBLE

  • Lillie

Here’s another option. Maybe Bin Laden bought the house next door!

  • Lillie

Yes, exactly, how can we find fault with Laura since she NEVER opened her mouth for 8 years!

  • Lillie

    Here you go, enjoy:

Bush ought not to be behind a gated property yet behind bars on all sides. The criminal acts, and complicity by both governmental parties, is apparently to be overlooked by the new administration allowing Bush to retire to a life of luxury. A fine example to be set for the citizens of America, that crime pays at the highest levels ? I don’t think so.

  • broadcastman

    Welcome home, jimmy

  • John Smith

Welcome to Dallas. I am glad you both have a nice home and I hope, my whole family and friends hope you will have a nice retirement. Thanks for keeping the U.S.A. SAFE!

  • Joel Bennett

Welcome Home Mr. President! As for me and my family, we are very thankful that you were our President for eight years. You certainly are a gifted leader whom our country will always be grateful for. We wish you and Mrs. Bush many blessings! With great regards from Charlotte, North Carolina

  • Debbra Carrol

WELCOME BACK TO DALLAS MR.PRESIDENT!!! MY FAMILY IS ALSO VERY THANKFUL FOR YOUR SERVICE OF EIGHT YEARS AND KEEPING OUR COUNTRY SAFE. As for all the disrespectful people making comments here, you should be ashamed of the trash you wrote. That kind of disrespect does nothing but make Americans look bad. You can disagree with someone’s politics, ideas, religion, etc., but there comes a point where your foolish comments only reflect your ignorance and poor judgement.
