Are Dallas Mansions Still Selling Well?

Pining for the Bubble: Kind of interesting, looking at an article from just over a year ago. What happened to these homes and who sold them?

At the risk of being a downer … the higher priced properties are actually moving a lot slower than properties in the $200,000 to $500,000 range right now. And it looks like some of those pretty mansions were left standing at the altar.

The sweet $18.5 million house on Hunters Glen was on the market for 414 days with no takers (even though the price was lowered to $16,950,000. No honeymoon for her.

The lovely 4650 Meadowood went from $12.95 million to $9.95 million but no one wanted her for the 366 days she was available.

The folks at 4808 Lakeside are hanging in there with a 2.5 million price drop and a painful 766 days on market. She isn’t feelin the love.

10240 Strait Lane has been on and off again with 3 different agents since February of 2006. She is still available for $8,947,500 (how DO they come up with a number like that?). But a facelift would do her some good.

And 4400 Belfort must be feeling a bit confused since she has been ’sale pending’ in MLS since April 2008 (almost a year after she went on the market). It doesn’t look like she has changed hands. I think someone’s assistant needs to update the books.

Don’t put away those bridesmaid dresses girls. You may have to wear them a little bit longer.

Quick update from Dave Perry-Miller’s office. Please be advised that 4400 Belfort is entered correctly …. It’s just a long pending!
