Showtime — Getting Wet At 3816 Turtle Creek Boulevard

Video of one of the most talked-about properties in town, a prime Dallas location, freshly built on .7 acres bordering Turtle Creek and designed by owner Braden Power, co-founder of Power Properties, with loving care and exquisite attention to detail. Five bedrooms, six baths in the main house, loggia, fireplace, beaucoup outside rooms and seating areas plus (another) exterior infinity pool, guest quarters, rolling lawns and an intimate lounging area with fireplace smack dab at the edge of Turtle Creek. The ancient Rome influence is evident, revealed in the front atrium foyer with a reflective pool right as you walk in the house. (Don’t trip!) The pool is bordered with heated limestone passageways connecting the Moorish style entrance to French doors flanking the fireplace. (Architect Cole Smith collaborated with the owner/designer.) Details abound such as zebra wood inset in wood railings, hand-carved corbels, monochromic wall and window coverings. The main kitchen is so integrated you don’t realize it’s a kitchen — a butler’s/catering kitchen is adjacent. This home is so sexy  I asked if Viagra is circulated through the evaporator coils as a pheromone. Totally seductive retreat: one-touch interior/exterior mood lighting and sound systems and, most vitally, window coverings.

Also home of the most decadent master suite in the country — wait till Mama sees this! Half of the second story is devoted to a languishing master bath with heated floors and towel shelves, indoor spa/media room, spa with steam room/waterfall/full bar/fireplace, gym, to-die-for haberdashery closet, sitting room, balcony and dressing room.

Now if 7697 square feet isn’t enough, a Cole Smith design for a greatroom of approximately 4,000 square feet is available to the buyer. Furnishings and decorative items are also available for purchase. Price tag: $13,000,000. Listing agent: Eleanor Mowery Sheets and Company for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

4 more of these and EMS would have the tax man off her back!

  • Sister Helen

How appropriate that EMS is listing this for Braden. One good crook deserves another.

    Candy,

The page with the video says 3806 Turtle Creek.

  • Candy Evans

Thanks, I caught that last night and emailed the web gurus. Sister Helen, now now!

  • MsX

Agree w/ Sister – Braden is a tool. Good luck unloading this one.

  • Everyone Must Succeed

    I concur.

    Meow people.

Wow! I think the time has come for Eleanor and Nicky to pay! They still owe so many people money…contractors, painters, decorators, lawn services…. Wait till the US Justice Department starts looking into “her” real estate company…

  • Gadfly

WTF?! Let’s see… We’ve got a Gothic entry porch; Mediterranean tile roof; a great hall with an alpine cathedral ceiling, a roman pool that squirts next to a giant fireplace; some very bland bedrooms; and a whole lot of street noise. This house does not know what it wants to be.

Eleanor and Nicky are in some hot water! They may have some bad karma heading back their way. But seriously, getting back to this house…WOW! Glad you gave the correct address because I just drove by it. What a work of art; I’m so proud Dallas is heading this direction. This beauty and originality goes for $30 million in So. Cal! Obviously it was inspired by someone that thinks “outside the box”. I’m sure talent like Smith and Power gets called all kinds of names. Just wish I had thought of this…

Stunning is all I can say. One must click the links to view the photos. The video does not do it justice. Having lived all over the world, I am pleased to see Dallas is being transformed into a world class city. This is truly a one of a kind residence. Thank you D for making this available for all of us to enjoy. Cheers!

Thanks Elaine for referring to the pics. The video is difficult to get an idea of the house. This house is amazing! I have never seen anything like it. I am surprised it is in Dallas. Most of the homes here are so boring. Glad to see someone is breaking the mold.

  • psarchitect

I had the opportunity to walk this house. The quality of the materials is second to none and might be one of the most tastefully executed properties I’ve seen. I agree with Elainefromlondon. If you really want to get a feel for this residence click the link for the photos.

Those last three comments sound like they came straight from the owner, who is a consumate phoney, IMVHO.

Anyone who has done business with them can tell you stories.

  • Candy Evans

    Tell me more…

  • Honey

Power properties are nice but their management staff is abysmal. If they fired them all and hired people that actually care they would be the hottest places to live in Dallas.

  • hypnkewl

I toured this house this weekend and when I got to the 10 man shower I relaized it was really a gay men’s bath house. BTW price has been reduced.

  • rob

If this house is built like their apts/condos, good luck!

  • abraham cohen

I bought a condo from Power Properties in 06 for $140,000 and love it! I have never had problems and my condo is worth about $30,000 more now then when I bought it. That is pretty good in this market. The last comment about poor workmanship are very offensive.

As for the house, it is amazing! It is probably one of the nicest homes in the city. It was even published in 14 pages in The Book for Neimans. You should check it out. I heard they chose it out of the entire country and even flew in top models to shoot the catalog. Neiman Marcus certainly understands sophistication and style. I have also heard that the best artisans in the city were responsible for the work on the house and I believe it. I love seeing homes like this that are so cutting edge!
