Always A Bridesmaid… On Rheims

Lydia Player over at Virgina Cook tell me this property may be a spinster. First it was offered as a new construction site with Ventura — fabulous builders, BTW, they have a home on Beverly across from the $15 million spec I wrote about in this month’s D Magazine. That price tag was $8 to $12 million. OK, it stays on the market 245 days, no buyers, goes off the market. They list it with Ellen Terry,  and try to sell for land value at $5 million. Then the price was raised to $6.9 million for a year, before finally being lowered to $5.9 million. Reason for the price increase? Maybe because it’s down the street from 4300 Rheims.

Days on Market thus far: 245 days with agent #1 and 531 days with agent #2.

Obviously the curse of tearing down an architecturally significant Howard Meyer home for the lot.
