That $15 million lot otherwise known as Norma Hunt’s property – the one Lamar bought after they married to erect their dream home but never got around to building. The lot fronts on two creeks and is the only undeveloped land left in the area…1.77 acres… on market for $15 million. I hear it sold for somewhere around $12.5. Please note I’ve worked my fingers to the bone for this information; none of it came from the listing agent’s office — Eleanor Mowery Sheets. (What rock have you been living under?) Allie Beth Allman gets part of this sweet deal since Irmgard Arthur represented the buyers. Rolling up my sleeves to find out who bought it…
Think any bills will get paid with that comission check? NAH!
Please let’s not start the “Are the Bushes going to live here?” rumors.
I heard the Bushes are going to live here.
Is it true that is where the Bushes are going to live?
I think I see Bushes living there.
I used to live a block from there and could’ve sworn that it was a public park…
Before Lamar bought the property, I recalled that there was a nice house there. Believe that there was a fire and the house burned down. Don’t think the residents got out. Then Lamar bought it but never developed it.
The Bushes better watch out — I hear there are some charity beavers running around near there.
Guess: That was my first thought when I saw this article, although “I don’t have the money” has never been an excuse she has used, I don’t think. Usually, it’s just “Screw you, I don’t feel like paying”.
Not to beat a dead horse or anything…
Well, we’ve got to give her credit for pulling off this sale in a “down” market.
Really Candy? A prime piece of Highland Park property in pristine condition and probably desired by almost every social climber in Dallas County? I’m not sure if I would consider that such a tough sell, and the “down” market doesn’t seem to be affecting the upper end price points anyways. But I could be wrong – I can’t afford to buy in Highland Park…partially because my clients don’t pay their..oh, never mind! Same song, 53rd verse!
It will be interesting to see what gets built there.
“Social climber in Dallas County”…. how about social climber from Oklahoma who is good friends with T. Boone Pickens…oh oh I said too much!
Wow, I grew up a few blocks away. I remember playing down there a few times. Back in the 80’s that was considered too far south, too close to Wycliff, too close to all that Oak Lawn crime.
I always thought it was just a park, although I faintly remember the charred frame of a house and an entrance on the NW corner. What do you want to bet the new owner (anyone figured out who it is?) builds a J Jones like Great Wall to secure it. After all, it’s still too close to Wycliff, Oak Lawn and has the lore of bad things did happen in that park, lol.
If it’s W who builds, what will you do when he builds a helipad? That property is going to cost $30M easy. He will need to chopper to the airport and the ranch. It’s going to take a lot of for profit entertaining to pay for Castlelot.
Here’s a kicker for you who live in the area. Not to be outdone, Jerry From the Block builds a helipad on his property so he can be airlifted to and from his ATT Arlington DallasCowboys.com Pepsi Reebok Cesar Chavez Stadium? One day, I-30 will be finished, but it sure won’t be any shorter.
I see a lot of helipad on top of garage configurations in the future. Now that I think about it, I’m going to chew my Dad out for not building a helipad to copter me up to prep school. I could have used the extra time for homework.
Boone has friends????
ya’ll are funny…
