Mickey Munir’s Buyer of Two Months Scores!

Power builder Mickey Munir very recently sold his $10 million spec home at 4850 Preston Road to James Beckett III. Like 4/11/2008. House valued at just over $10 million. But sources tell me the Missis doesn’t like her new digs all that much so it’s on the market. For $11,250,000 with Briggs Freeman. Relax, that’s only $53, 959.55 a month WITH 20% down and a profit of about $1,250,000 for two-ish months. But my question: Did she even get to unpack?

I heard at lunch today that he bought the house for her as a sight unseen surprise. What kind of guy does that?

Look, when guys do stuff like that, they are doing it for themselves, and their own egos. Me, I would take the house, and be happy, because the gesture is so lavish. (Think Taj Mahal…) But, money doesn’t buy happiness…

I tried to buy my husband a little convertible for his 40th. He hated it, and I realized I was buying it for me. The dealer was nice about it, and refunded the deposit.

Oh I always do that. I bought my husband a four poster bed for his 35th when I wanted one — then four years later I bought him the Ralph Lauren mahogany armoir to match. Just last year he got two turquoise silk cotton chairs (that no one in the fam is allowed to sit in) from Michelle Nussbaumer at Ceylon et Cie as a birthday gift — plus me, of course. This is rule 79 of marriage: don’t make large purchases over $500 without your spouse’s consent unless it’s a gift for them. I am thinking of writing a book on the secret rules of marriage. One of my fave is staying in the bathtub on Saturday night until he falls asleep…get my drift!

Wait — is this who I think it is?????
