Bank Robber Standoff at Costco in Plano

Now this is scary. Why, because this is MY Costco. And I sent my family up there yesterday to pick up the usual paper towels and TP and buy cheap gas. Maybe I need to tuck a few pit bulls in the car with them next time. (What in the world is a bank robber doing at Costco — stocking up on rubber gloves?)

    From the article above:
“One of those arrested Monday was captured at a Costco in Plano after the Dallas police SWAT team responded to a confrontation at the discount store shortly before 10 a.m.

Armored police vehicles loaded with officers toting automatic weapons converged on the store. No one was hurt and no hostages were taken, officials said. Authorities later towed a gold Mercedes-Benz sedan from the store’s parking lot.”

Candy, if wish I knew you had a grocery list. I’d had added my to it and killed two birds with one stone.

PS. That Costco is still safer than the Whole Foods here in the neighborhood, and cheaper.

I think Costco is more dangerous and expensive than Whole Foods any day. I walk into Whole Foods and plan to buy certain items for the week. I spend about what I usually spend or would expect to spend on that trip.

A trip to Costco is worse. I’ll go in planning to buy some fruit, veggies, bottled water, and chicken, but I walk out with a lot more. My planned spend can double as I pass through the aisles finding things I forgot I needed or things I saw and wanted!

Who hasn’t walked into Costco or even Sam’s with the plan to buy 5 specific items but walked out with 10-15 items instead? Sometimes forgetting part of your list….

I have told my husband this for 28 years. (Was a child bride, like those gals at the Compound.) Falls on deaf ears. Go to Tom Thumb or even Whole Foods, which he used to think was a Communist plot ’till he started sampling everything on Saturdays. Pick up a small carton of whatever you need, order from Sams or Costco and get it shipped and you will spend less. Of course, this coming from me, who holds a PhD in Shopping, small wonder he never paid attention.
