Attack of the Pit Bulls: Chill Returns Home

pit-bull11.jpgThis is unbelievable, because Mr. Harris told more than 100 of us down at the Dallas Animal Shelter a week ago Tuesday that he would not bring Chill back to his Preston Hollow home on Royalton. But I just receieved a phone call from Terry O’Conner (whose wife and dogs were attacked by Chill a month ago) that Janet Henderson called him from the Shelter, John Harris picked up his dogs and told her he was bringing them home. And legally he can do that. The City cannot do anything unless the dog attacks again. Then — they said — they would go to court and ask a judge to order the dog destroyed. The Harris home is on the market. Please, if you are over there looking, be careful and do not leave the gate open. Do not pet the doggies. Meantime, steer clear of our ‘hood for a few days: I fear everyone with a CHL will be packing heat to give Chill a big fat pill.

OK, let’s get this straight. Chill’s owner said that he did not raise the dog to be aggressive. Chill’s owner said that he was not going to bring Chill home. Hmm. Wouldn’t you love to strap this chap to a polygraph machine?

Poor Chill. No wonder he has a personality disorder.

Good luck and stay safe, PH-hoodies.

Haven’t they attacked on three occasions?

How is it that the city gives these animals the “four strike” rule? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, ok, you get a pass. Fool me four times, and the city will order you destroyed.

The owners just need to do the right thing and get rid of these dogs. I don’t care, or sympathize with their characterization of them as “pets.”

Get over your right to own these domestic demons and find your conscience. You have rights up until those rights start to infringe on the rights of others. So far, you’re right to own domestic animals has infringed on THREE individual’s rights to walk their own domestic animals on a public street without fear of bodily harm or harm to personal property on THREE separate occasions.

If I’m wrong about the number of attacks, then I stand corrected. Even at TWO attacks, that is totally unacceptable.

On another note: I’d suggest a hollow-point chill pill. I might even suggest doubling the dosage.

Maybe someone can elaborate on this irony: Chill may be put on “ice” when he attacks again.
