DCAD says my little Dilbeck duplex in E. Dallas has gone up 260% in the last 5 years. I don’t think 2% off is going to help!

Reporting on housing prices is always incomplete and lazy.
Steve Brown’s report this morning about falling prices fails to make an important distinction between “existing home sales” and “new homes sales.” That would be much more telling. It also requires some effort. Steve Brown doesn’t work very hard to provide useful information.
I confirmed his laziness when I saw his picture. Wow. Sloppy, careless work, sloppy careless appearance.
DallasDirt is a daily discussion among editors at D Magazine and D Home about the Dallas-Fort Worth residential real estate market, with topics including but not limited to: hot neighborhoods, secret listings, celebrity listings, real estate trends, tips for buying, tips for selling, data analysis, and more. If DallasDirt were a house, it'd be a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath ranch house in "above average" condition -- that is, sophisticated with nice touches and comfy enough you’ll want to stay a while.
