Also note what we pay for property insurance compared to the rest of the world… but here’s what I don’t get: Miami pays less than we do for property insurance?

    Property taxes are less, but definitely not insurance. I have clients moving from Miami who said their insurance quote in Dallas was about 1/4 of the cost of their Miami home’s insurance even after taking into account a difference in home values.

    It’s called state income tax. If all the apartment dwellers paid state income tax, our property tax would be much lower…
